Rally Fafe Montelongo joins the ERC for the first time to host season's round three, an all-asphalt stages in Portugal. Part of the Campeonato Portugal de Ralis Clássicos and Campeonato Norte Ralis, the event features a mix of fast sweeps and tight hairpin turns on smooth, undulating Tarmac roads.

Hungary presents fast stages and narrow sections, although rain and mud provided an unwanted additional challenge in 2019.

With winding roads immersed in the breathtaking landscapes of Gran Canaria, this asphalt circuit offers stages with climbing and descending at a constant rate, in which drivers must pay close attention to corner speed and lines to ensure optimal momentum is maintained.

Featuring stages in and around the famous Belgian Grand Prix venue and based in the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps paddock, the ERC newcomer rally provides an exciting end-of-season challenge. Over a competitive distance of 205.52 kilometres, the action-packed itinerary includes a blast through Spa’s World RX track.

First run in 1921, Rally Poland’s home since 2005 has been Mikołajki in the picturesque Masurian lake district, a three-hour drive north from the capital Warsaw, where high-speed all-gravel stages are commonplace.  One of the world’s oldest rallies on the ERC roster, the 77^th Rally Poland expectations are always extra high.

Rally di Roma Capitale made its ERC debut in 2017 as Italy returned to the European championship for the first time since 2013. It proved a big hit and continues to flourish. The Rally itself is somewhat unique, since it goes through the historic streets of Rome, past famous landmarks such as the Colosseum. By also counting as an Italian championship round, local participation is often strong.

Ever-present on the ERC schedule since the championship’s streamlining in 2004, Barum Czech Rally Zlín is based in the South Moravian university city, 300 kilometres south of the Czech capital Prague. It is a Tarmac test like no other due to the bumpy and sometimes broken nature of the road surface. To add to the challenge, several stages feature high-speed blasts through forests and intermittent showers are always possible. 

Hungary returned to the ERC for the first time since 2003 with a new sealed-surface event in Nyíregyháza. The stages feature fast and narrow sections, although rain and mud provided an unwanted additional challenge in the past two years.

With the stages climbing and descending at a frequent rate, drivers pay close attention to corner speed and lines to ensure optimal momentum is maintained, while precise car set-up and pacenote accuracy are vital. One of the notable features of the sealed stages is the abrasive surface, constructed partly from volcanic lava. It means grip levels are high and remain constant if it rains, although tyre wear can increase.
